Organix mattresses are built with certified organic materials, combined with independently tested non-toxic and free of harmful VOC and EMF components. We don't carry an all-organic certification on the finished mattress, because meeting that standard (95%+ organic content) typically means sacrificing the structural support most sleepers need.
A mattress qualifies for organic certification when at least 95% of its materials (usually cotton, wool, or latex) are certified organic by a body like GOTS or GOLS. This is different from "natural" or "non-toxic," which are unregulated terms that don't require third-party verification.
Organic materials reduce exposure to synthetic chemicals and VOCs, which matters for people sensitive to off-gassing, EMFs, or allergens. But an all-organic mattress isn't automatically safer or more supportive; non-toxicity and structural quality are separate questions, and both matter for healthy sleep.
"Organic" refers to the source of the materials (certified organic cotton, latex, wool). "Non-toxic" refers to the absence of harmful chemical off-gassing (VOCs) regardless of material source. An Organix Mattress is designed to deliver both certified organic materials, independently tested for VOC and EMF safety.
The healthiest mattress combines low-VOC, low-EMF materials with proper spinal support; sleeping on an unsupportive mattress, organic or not, can cause its own health issues over time. Look for independent VOC testing data, named certifications (not just the word "natural"), and a trial period long enough to test comfort and support.
